A Great Story
Mondou was founded in 1938 by Joseph Émilien Mondou. The original store, called J.E. Mondou at the time, was located on Place Jacques-Cartier in Montreal. In 1983, Mondou changed management and opened a store at the entrance of the Jean-Talon Market. This reboot, as it were, would put the already successful business on the path to constant growth that continues to this day.
In 1999, Mondou invested in a new distribution centre with over 65,000 square feet of floor space, and in 2004, the company’s stores began displaying the logo we all know so well.
Mondou currently has over 60 stores throughout Quebec as well as two distribution centres with a combined floor space of 150,000 square feet.
Today, Mondou is recognized throughout Canada as an uncontested leader in its field.
